The L.Y.F.E. Foundation Scholarship is a competitive, merit-based scholarship that is open to students preparing to attend a four-year college/university in the fall of 2017. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of financial need, academic performance and commitment to youth community volunteerism, as well as a personal statement of what the student has learned by participating in volunteer events and how this experience has prepared him/her for college. All applicants submitted by the deadline will be screened by a Scholarship Committee Review Board. Scholarships are renewable for up to four years or until the recipient completes his/her undergraduate degree, whichever comes first; and if the recipient maintains qualifying renewal-specific criteria. The L.Y.F.E. Foundation Scholarship will be applied to tuition, fees, books, supplies, and equipment required for full-time course load at a four-year college/university in the United States.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for a new scholarship/award, all students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Be enrolled as a senior at an accredited high school in the United States of America.
  • Be a U.S. citizen, or US National, or Permanent Resident.
  • Must be enrolled in a two-year, four-year college/university or a trade-school, in the fall of 2017 as a full-time, degree-seeking, first-year student.
  • Demonstrated volunteer service by providing a Letter of Recommendation from the Director/Representative of the organization you volunteer for (On Official Letter Head).
  • Have met a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Demonstrated financial need.
  • Received written acceptance from your selected two-year, four-year college(s), or trade school – Copy of acceptance must be included in application*.
  • Completed and submitted application materials by the postmarked deadline date.

*A copy of the applicant’s written acceptance from a two-year, four-year college(s), or trade school is required in the scholarship application. If you have not received your official letter of acceptance, you may still be selected, but funding will NOT be released until we receive you official acceptance letter(s). Some applicants may have been accepted by more than one school, and have not made a final decision of which college to attend when submitting this scholarship application. All school acceptance letters must be included in the application. If the applicant is selected to receive The LYFE Foundation Scholarship, then the applicant will need to make a final decision of which college to attend and submit their final decision in writing to The LYFE Foundation no later than July 1st.
